Dear Parent or Carer,
Re: How we tell you about accidents, incidents and illness at school
When your child is hurt or unwell at school, we record what happened and the first aid given, and let you know. Until now we have done this with a paper slip sent home in your child’s bag.
We are replacing the paper slip with BumpSlip, a secure online version of the same slip. Staff log accidents and incidents straight away on a school phone or tablet, the school office checks every slip, and you get a copy by email.
What changes for you
- You’ll get an email with a link to your child’s slip once the office has checked it: what happened, when and where, and the treatment given.
- Please tap “I’ve read this” on the slip, so we know it has reached you.
- For a head injury, or anything that may need medical attention, the slip lists the warning signs to look out for at home.
- If we need to speak to you, for example to collect your child, we will still phone you as we do now.
- There is no app to download and nothing to sign up for.
Records are stored securely in the UK, and only the school’s staff can see them. You can read how BumpSlip protects information at bumpslip.com/privacy.
What we need from you
Please fill in the slip below and return it to the school office, so we send the copy to the right email address. Emails will come from info@bumpslip.com with the school’s name on them. Please add this address to your contacts so they don’t end up in your junk or spam folder.
Yours sincerely,
Accident and incident slips by email: please return to the school office
